Terms and Conditions of Sale

These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made from Jodie Coulthard Jewellery via our website: jodiecoulthard.com.

By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Us

Jodie Coulthard Jewellery (“we”, “us”, “our”) designs and sells fine jewellery, including ready-to-wear, made-to-order, and bespoke pieces (“Jewellery”, “Pieces”).

2. Our Jewellery

All jewellery is handmade or produced in small batches. Slight variations in appearance are normal and form part of the unique nature of handcrafted pieces.

We use high-quality materials including solid gold and natural or lab-selected gemstones/diamonds where specified.

3. Product Categories

3.1 Ready-to-Wear Pieces

Items available for immediate purchase with no customisation.

3.2 Made-to-Order Pieces

Standard designs adjusted to your specifications (e.g. sizing, engraving, gemstone selection).

3.3 Bespoke Pieces

Completely custom designs created through a consultation and design process.

Different cancellation and refund rights apply depending on category (see Section 11).

4. Order Acceptance

We reserve the right to accept or decline any order.

An order is only confirmed once:

  • Payment has been received, and

  • We have issued written confirmation.

We may refuse orders due to availability, suspected fraud, or inability to fulfil requirements.

5. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are shown in GBP unless stated otherwise.

  • Payment is taken at checkout unless otherwise agreed (e.g. deposits for bespoke work).

  • We accept major debit/credit cards, PayPal, and Klarna (where available).

  • You own the Jewellery only once full payment has been received.

6. Bespoke Orders

Bespoke jewellery is made specifically for you.

  • A non-refundable deposit (typically 50%) is required before work begins.

  • Remaining balance must be paid before dispatch or collection.

  • Timeframes are estimates only and may vary due to craftsmanship or sourcing delays.

  • Once design approval is given, responsibility for accuracy of specifications lies with you.

We may photograph bespoke pieces for portfolio or marketing unless you request confidentiality in writing.

7. Delivery

UK Delivery

  • Free insured delivery may apply to qualifying orders.

  • All deliveries require a signature.

International Delivery

  • Shipped via insured courier services.

  • Customs duties, import taxes, and local fees are the responsibility of the customer.

We are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, customs, or events outside our control.

8. Risk and Ownership

Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery.

Ownership remains with us until full payment has been received.

9. Delays Outside Our Control

We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including (but not limited to):

  • courier delays

  • customs processing

  • strikes

  • extreme weather

  • supply chain disruption

10. Product Variations

Slight variations in colour, texture, gemstone appearance, or dimensions (up to approximately 2%) may occur.

Images are for illustrative purposes only and may vary depending on screen settings.

11. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

For ready-to-wear and non-custom items, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.

To exercise this right, you must notify us within this period.

Refunds will include:

  • The price of the item

  • Standard delivery costs (if applicable)

Refunds will not include:

  • Express shipping upgrades

  • International customs duties or taxes

12. Returns

Returned items must be:

  • Unworn

  • In original packaging

  • In resellable condition

You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty.

We recommend tracked and insured shipping, as we are not responsible for lost returns.

13. Bespoke and Custom Orders (Exclusions)

The following are not eligible for cancellation or refund once production has started:

  • bespoke pieces

  • made-to-order pieces with personalisation (e.g. engraving, resizing, gemstone selection)

  • consultation or design services already performed

This is in line with UK consumer law for personalised goods.

14. Faulty Goods

If a piece is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to:

  • a repair, or

  • a replacement, or

  • a refund

depending on the circumstances and legal requirements.

We may request return of the item for inspection.

This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

15. Care and Responsibility

You are responsible for the proper care of your jewellery.

We strongly recommend insurance upon receipt.

We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage occurring after delivery, except where required by law.

16. Liability

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or negligence.

We are not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses

  • business losses

  • losses caused by misuse, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • any rights you have under UK consumer law

17. Personal Data

We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at jodiecoulthard.com/privacy.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be published on our website.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

You may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in your home jurisdiction if required by law.
