Institute of Professional Goldsmiths

The Institute of Professional Goldsmiths (IPG) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship, professional conduct and training within the goldsmithing and allied trades.

Established to champion traditional craft skills within the jewellery and silverware industries, the IPG provides a trusted platform through which both the trade and the public can access exceptional craftsmanship and commission bespoke work.

The Institute accepts only craftspeople of the highest calibre, promoting, supporting and representing excellence in workmanship across the industry.

The highest level of membership is “Fellow.” All goldsmiths and master craftspeople that create JCJ heirlooms are IPG Fellows.

The second level is “Associate Fellow.” These members are highly skilled but are still developing their craft. I am an Associate Fellow specialising in jewellery design and continually working towards becoming a Fellow. I am currently developing my jewellery rendering skills — the art of painting jewels.

The third category is “Member,” consisting of recently qualified craftspeople who are working towards the experience and standard required for Associate Fellowship.

I feel hugely honoured to be part of this prestigious fellowship, with the opportunity to draw upon its wealth of knowledge and learn from some of the finest craftspeople in the profession.
