Being the designer, my Fiancé had the toughest decision to make. Do I surprise Jodie or let her have the reins? Obversely the latter.
Bespoke engagement ring housing a 2ct emerald-cut sapphire flanked by two half moon diamonds featuring the brands signature wave detail around the setting, crafted in 18ct gold and platinum.
Over the years, my engagement ring design evolved many times. I was originally drawn to a tanzanite centre stone, as I love the way it shifts from purple to blue at different angles. However, as it is slightly softer on the Mohs scale, I decided to choose a more durable stone—either a sapphire or a diamond.
I was sent a selection of beautiful stones from a dealer with a true passion for sapphires, and he did not disappoint—this one completely stole my heart. I was especially drawn to the classic step cut of the emerald shape, echoing the elegance and clean lines of the Art Deco era.
I also wanted to incorporate two half-moon diamonds, inspired by our love of moon-gazing, to gently flank the sapphire.
The design was inspired by my love for the ocean and moon-gazing. My signature wave detail that flows around the setting. I enjoy working with contrasting metals to highlight the finer details of a piece, so I chose to create the infinity wave in gold, while the rest of the setting is crafted in platinum.
